The Courses at Dalmahoy
The fantastic James Braid Designed East Course at Dalmahoy is a true Championship Venue. Changes were put in place in 2004 and holes 13 and 14 are now arguably the best back to back par fours in the country. The course is designed now in such a way, that it would be worthy of hosting any Professional or Amateur event from any world circuit. From the very back Championship tees, the course is a monster at over 7,400 yards, however for corporate events and members’ competitions, the course is set around the 6,700 yard mark which still makes it a stern test. Fairways are generous in width and large greens are inviting to hit to, but watch out for those subtle breaks!
The sister course to the Championship East is the beautiful West Course. At nearly 2000 yards less in length, it is a much shorter challenge than its big sister. However, don’t be fooled. The West is much tighter in places with much smaller greens to navigate your ball on to. A par 68 offers many birdie chances but you can also be easily caught out with its trickery and devilishly designed holes.
Both courses cater for all standards of golfer and are also a joy to play. Beautiful views towards Edinburgh Castle, Forth Road and Rail Bridges can be seen from the higher points of the course. Although only a 15 minute drive from the centre of the capital of Scotland, you will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Lothians countryside.
Dalmahoy's Golf Academy offers a 12 bay heated driving range, championship putting green and substantial practice areas. Our 2 PGA professionals are on site to offer lessons or fun golf clinics for small groups.
Edinburgh Edge can tailor your golf package to suit your ability, free time and budget!
